MEAN WELL Hong Kong’s annual mountain clean-up has evolved from an environmental initiative into a highly anticipated gathering where local partners unite for the planet.
 
As the event began, the MEAN WELL volunteer team distributed the "Three Treasures of Mountain Clean-Up"—eco-friendly gloves, long tongs, and reused plastic bags—while explaining safety rules and proper usage. Even first-time participants quickly picked up the basics and set off on the mountain clean-up trail at Pok Fu Lam Country Park!
 
"Mountain clean-ups have never been just about picking up trash—every time you bend down, it is a sign of respect for nature," staff members from the Hong Kong environmental group Greeners Action gently explained. Strolling along the countryside paths around Pok Fu Lam, participants picked up scattered litter while listening to Greeners Action share insights on local plants and ecological observation. Slowing down their pace, everyone attentively immersed themselves in the vibrant rhythm of birds and insects while observing signs of local biodiversity. By observing, collecting trash, and learning the importance of Leave No Trace along the way, participants came to deeply realize that they were protecting far more than just scenery—they were safeguarding a living, breathing forest that needs nurturing!

Slowing down to clean and learn, partners found joy in the refreshing forest phytoncides.
 

The results of the clean-up action were equally encouraging—the total trash collected was only 4.4 kilograms!
The true value of a mountain clean-up lies beyond mere numbers; it indicates that the Leave No Trace mindset is taking root in people's hearts. When more people choose to reduce unnecessary consumption and take their own trash with them, the mountains remain cleaner, preserving these beautiful natural views for the next visitor.
